Who we are

The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” Mark 12: 31

We are an East London-based group aiming to design and develop an affordable, intergenerational co-housing scheme for 5-20 families. Our group believes that an intentional community is a great expression for showing love to your neighbours and for caring for the elderly. We envision this community will expand to consist of people from all walks of life, from all ages and backgrounds. If this is for you, please get in touch.

The steering group is led by Matthew and Janita Cresswell, Anila Babla and Alexia Haywood.

Matthew is head of RE in a school in west London, and Janita is an architect. When not at work, they like growing cacti, writing music, playing in swing bands and working on projects.

Anila is a marketing and communications manager, web designer and art psychotherapist in training. She once shaved my head and raised enough money to buy a house in Indonesia!

Alexia works in the international human rights and development sector, and is currently working for an international development charity, and volunteers with a local migrant rights charity. When not at work Alexia likes to cook complicated and elaborate meals for friends, often losing her cool in the process.

Our project is supported by Locality’s Community Led Early Stage Support Programme and the Community Led Housing Hub London.
